Portuguese calçadas or pavements have become part of Portugal’s identity and culture. They adorn many of

the outdoor spaces throughout Portugal adding a unique charm and character.

I love walking around Lagos and seeing how life takes place with those calçadas as a backdrop.

Let’s take time to appreciate the work of the ‘calçiteiros’ that help make Lagos the beautiful town that it is
