Mercearia Bio joined the “NO Algarbage- zero waste in tourism” project, which aims to raise awareness and help reduce food waste, through a practical intervention, on the ground, to study the waste management currently practiced by establishments.
The project partners are Tertúlia Algarvia, Casa Modesta, Faro Story Spot, Casa 1923 and Mercearia Bio. Based on the results obtained, it will present proposals and strategies to reduce the food waste.
This initiative has the financial support of ACCIONAD-ODS, which is co-financed by EP-Interreg V Spain Portugal (POCTEP). This promotes a framework of cross-border institutional cooperation between organizations and institutions from Western Andalusia, Extremadura (Badajoz and Cáceres province) and the southern Portuguese regions of Algarve and Alentejo.
During the next few weeks, we will try to share the implementation and results of the project, so that the entire community, companies and consumers, can also apply in their daily lives some of the strategies built to reduce food waste.
