Quinta da Comenda, the farm and a special offer
Between the 24th of April and the 7th of May 2021 we will associate an offer to the history of Quinta da Comenda - when buying any 5 bottles of the Comenda de Ansemil wine we will be offering one bottle of comenda de ansemil white.
Quinta da Comenda is an agro-wine farm with strong historical roots, a precursor to organic farming in Portugal. In addition to grapes, apples and peaches, hazelnuts and walnuts, olives and green asparagus, corn and rye, many beans and vegetables in season are produced on the farm. The farm also breeds cows from autochthonous race Arouquesa, goats, geese and chickens.
The farm also makes available rooms for bed and breakfast.
Located in the heart of the Lafões region, Quinta da Comenda benefits from edaphic and climatic conditions that contribute to the production of wines with different characteristics. This fact is highlighted by the set of grape varieties used: white arinto, cerceal, dona branca (white Mrs), rabo-de-ovelha (sheep's tail) and esgana-cão (dog choker); in rosés and reds alfrocheiro, baga (berry), camarate, trincadeira, castelão and jaen. And all with an exclusive organic vinification (only with indigenous yeasts).
Our brand "Comenda de Ansemil" evokes the name by which Quinta da Comenda was designated for many centuries since before Portuguese nationality.
