Healthy Snacks II
The organic healthy snacks part II for the younger ones is now
available.
The lack of time is no longer a good excuse not to make conscious
choices, besides the home made preparations there are also available
ready to eat snacks that are equally healthy.
Suggestion 1:
carrot and chocolate muffins*
Fruit puré from Natura Nouva (there are many varieties available all of which with no added sugar,only fruit)
Cucumber sticks
Cherry tomatoes
Walnut halves or another variety of dried fruits
*For the muffins you will be needing the following ingredients (7muffins):
160gr whole spelt flour
30 gr rice flour
5 soup spoons of coconut sugar
1 dessert spoon of dried yeast
1/2 tea spoon baking soda
100ml water
100ml vegatable drink
4 soup spoons of liquid coconut oil
1 soup spoon of cider vinegar
1 grated medium/large carrot
Pieces of chocolate with minimum 70% cocoa q.s.
Mix the flours in a bowl, add the coconut sugar, yeast and baking soda. After you have mixed it all add the water, vegatable drink, coconut oil and the cider vinegar and involve it all with a whisk but do not whisk it. Add the grated carrot and involve it all again. Place the dough in muffin moulds, previously dressed with oven paper or greased with coconut oil and at last sprinkle with the chocolate bits. Take it to the oven pre heated at 180º for about 25 minutes.
Suggestion 2:
Yoghurt with granola and jam*
1 piece of fresh fruit
walnut halves or anither dried fruit
Banana chips
Rice and hazeknut vegatable drink (you may sweeten it with rice malt)
*To make the combination with yoghurt, jams and granola you will need the following ingredients:
1 natural vegetable yoghurt (no added sugar)
Fruit jam with no added sugar
Apple and Strawberry Granola**
**Ingredients for the granola:
1 cup of whole oat flakes
1 cup of millet or rice puff
1/2 cup of grated coconut
20gr dehydrated apple cut into pieces (optional)
40 gr whole dehydrated strawberries(optional)
1 pinch of salt
3 soup spoons of liquid coconut oil
4 soup spoons of rice jelly
Mix all the dry ingredients in a bowl. In a separate bowl mix
the oil and the rice jelly and pour the mix into the dry ingredients
bowl, involving well. Take it on a tray with baking paper for 20 minutes
to the oven pre-heated at 150º, mix the granola after ten minutes.
After removing from the oven let it cool down and store in a jar or
another container with a lid.
Suggestion 3:
Corn or rice cookies
Jam with no added sugar and sliced banana
Vegetable rice drink and hazelnuts
Cherry tomato
almonds or another dried fruit
Suggestion 4:
Corn cookies
Fruit puré from Natura Nouva (there are many varieties available all of which with no added sugar,only fruit)
Sunflower seeds
Banana chips
Do not forget to send a bottle of water together with the snack packs,
as it is very important to hydrate your body throughout the day.
