Drunk pears
Ingredients:
6 rock pears
200 gr sugar
250 ml fair red wine
250 ml of port
lemon zest
orange zest
1 cinnamon stick
nutmeg
Preparation:
Peel the pears whole without cutting the stick.
You can cut the pear back allowing it to stand upwards and place them in a large pan. Place the sugar, wines, orange and lemon zest, cinnamon stick and a little grated nutmeg into the pan. When it starts boiling add the pears and let them cook for 20 minutes.
When they are cooked take them gently out of the pan and place them in a bowl. Keep the wines cooking on the stove and when they present a syrup consistency remove from the heat and pour the hot sauce over the pears. Let it cool down and serve.
