celeriac steaks
Ingredients
1 medium celeriac (0.6 to 0.8 kg)
qs olive oil for seasoning and sautéing
qs coarse salt from Tavira
qb sweet paprika
qs cayenne pepper
preparation method
1 - peel the celeriac bulb and cut it into slices/steaks approximately 1 cm thick;
2 - boil water in a pan and place the celeriac steaks for 5 minutes;
3 - remove the steaks, drain the water and season with olive oil, sweet pepper, cayenne pepper and drizzle with a little olive oil;
4 - add a drizzle of olive oil to the frying pan, let it heat up and place the celeriac steaks over medium heat until they are golden brown, turn them over and let them brown on the other side.
I prepared a tomato bulgur, with carrots and sweet corn, to garnish the celeriac.
It was the first time I tried the celeriac made this way and I really liked it! I even have other ways to cook the celeriac, with recipes shared by our Customers.
